Specials!

We are pleased to offer a variety of specials on our native and heirloom plants, gardening products, and services throughout the year. Check back often to see what's new!

FloriMulch

We are currently sold out of FLORIMULCH. If you are interested in pre-ordering 25 bags or more, send us an e-mail.

FloriMulch is a highly insect-resistant mulch made from the exotic invasive Melalueca tree. These trees invade our wetlands and displace native plants and wildlife, so turning them into useful mulch is a great use for them! FloriMulch is now available by the bag at The Green Marketplace (until we sell out). Price is $3.49 per bag, or if you buy 25 bags or more, the discounted price is $3.29 per bag, 50 + is $3.09 per bag, and 75 + is $2.99 per bag (plus tax).

The mulch comes in 1.5 cubic foot bags. To calculate how much you need, use this formula:

width (feet) x length (feet) x .25 (for a 3" deep layer) = ______ cubic feet.  Divide the answer by 1.5 (amount in each bag) and that will tell you approximately how many bags you need.

Worm Compost!

We are pleased to offer worm compost for sale at The Green Marketplace. What is worm compost? Worm compost, or vermicompost, is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by some species of earthworm. Basically worms eat vegetable matter and other organic materials, then excrete castings, the end product. Vermicompost is a nutrient-rich, natural fertilizer and soil conditioner that helps to maintain a healthy microbiotic environment for plants to grow in.  It can be tilled into beds, added into containers, and even used as a seed starting media. A great alternative to traditional chemical slow-release fertilizer.
